Kohala Zipline Canopy Tour

We (Mark, Diane, and Andrew) went 0n a zipline canopy tour. It was amazing!

Kayak Trip to Captain Cook's Monument

The three of us (Mark, Diane, and Andrew) paddled out to Captain Cook's monument (the white pillar in the distance just to the right of Diane's paddle) to go snorkelling. While we were there Andrew couldn't resist climbing aboard the Fairwind Cruises boat to jump off the top . . . twice!

We bought a kayak today

69 Beach

We drove up north for a day out at 69 Beach. It's a beautiful spot, we love it there!

Having a whale of a time in Hawaii

We (Mark and Diane) hiked out to another black sand beach, and saw dozens of Humpback Whales jumping out of the water just offshore.

Trip to the top of the volcano

We drove to the top of Mauna Kea, the highest spot on the Big Island to watch the sunset. The views were amazing, and the effects of high altitude and low oxygen were obvious - see the photo below of Andrew taking his first rest stop only a couple hundred yards from the car. Stiil, good times were had by all, and the sunset was spectacular.

Oh, and yes, Andrew was wearing his pyjama bottoms.

Our first Starfruit harvest

We picked our first starfruit from the tree I gave Diane for Christmas.
