One of the boys (from Samoa) at Diane's school and his friend (Swiss, but lives in Samoa, and is visiting Hawaii) are staying at our house for the weekend. Long story, but the visiting friend can't stay at the dorms, so we said we'd have them both at weekends. We took them to the beach, another beautiful day on the Big Island.
Here's our blog to keep you all up to date (and make it easier to quickly check out our photos without having to download them).

Andrew passed his driving test!
Andrew passed his driving test today, and is now the proud owner of a Hawaii drivers license. The streets of Hawaii will never be the same again.

Hike to Green Sand Beach
All three of us had Sunday off, so we went for a hike (again) to Green Sand Beach. This is an hour and a half drive from our house, to South Point - the southern most point in the United States, and then a hour or so hike along an old 4x4 dirt track to get to the beach. Do not attempt to adjust your monitors . . . the sand really is green!

Valentine's Day
Mark had to work on Saturday (2pm to 10pm), so before lunch we all went for a walk along the oceanfront (a five minute drive from where we live). The ocean was calm, unbelievably blue, and totally irresistible.

We've made an offer on a house!
You can check it out here:
http://www.hawaiiinformation.com/public/HiRENSpecific.asp?idxId=375&frmMlsNo=216784
It's a short sale, so it could be a while before we have an answer from the bank if they will accept our offer or not. Fingers crossed!

Back to Kiholo Bay for a sea turtle fest
We all went back to Kiholo Bay today - this time we took flashlights to further explore the flooded lava tube (Queen's Bath), and we also took our snorkel gear and underwater camera to check out the clear waters of the lagoon.
